Xperience09 was yet again an action packed weekend. Bigger and
better than any other year, it did not disappoint. With everything from
surfing and mountainboarding to beatboxing and urban art, there really
was something for everyone to enjoy.
Tynemouth Surf Company and Hurley provided exciting taster surf sessions throughout the weekend. It involved all the aspects of a full surf lesson such as; beach and sea safety, surfing basics and most importantly lots of fun.
Boardskillz provided Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) taster sessions throughout the weekend.
Tynemouth Extreme also offered ‘have a go’ sessions at kite flying.
MBS
provided mountainboard ‘have a go’ sessions where people were given the
opportunity to try out mountainboarding (a cross between skateboarding
and snowboarding with other elements of extreme sports including
BMXing) and receive instruction from ATBA qualified instructors.
We enjoyed the UK’s leading beatboxers; Bellatrix,
Reeps One and THePETEBOX and watched them do their thing. Some people
were able to learn from the very best in the business using the mouth
through the form of vocal percussion to produce drum beats, rhythm and
musical sounds.
New Line Graffiti
artists were at the festival giving participants the chance to graffiti
small boards and best of all – you could take them home with you!
Let's Circus' 'Circadium' featured a Big Top venue with lots of extreme circus skills taking place such as tight wire, trapeze, aerial silks, acrobalance, acrobatics, unicycling, juggling and hula hooping. And best of all, there were workshops and lots of participation - enthusiasts and newcomers had the chance to try new things, hone current skills and have lots of fun amongst peers and fellow enthusiasts.
